TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Non Exempt Position; 10 month position; Full Time; 40hr/wk; Temporary position for the 24-25 school year only.
SALARY: NC 04-06
QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate with completion of at least two years of higher education or completion of an associate’s degree, required. NCLB legislation on compliance required. Experience working with children preferred.
DUTIES: The Classroom Coach (TA) serves as the in person classroom support for students and the virtual elevate teacher. This role will be teaming up with the teacher and will be responsible for ensuring the program runs smoothly in the classroom.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Login to the Elevate portal and stream the teacher live at the start of each class.
- Maintain student routines and performance to assist virtual teachers instruction.
- Be a mentor and leader to students.
- Work closely with your school to ensure everything is set up for the elevate classroom (equipment, class layout, and student devices).
- Complete Elevate K-12 Classroom Coach training prior to class day one. School with dictate whether asynchronous, live, or in person was chosen.
- Help student's login to the Elevate platform from their computer/device so they can work with instructors online.
- Manage the in-classroom behavior while supporting online instruction.
- Download student grade reports as frequently as your school admin requires and, if required by the school, input grades into school system.
- Interact/communicate with the instructor prior to the first session during an orientation meeting to discuss class routines and any school nuances. The classroom coach is expected to interact with the Elevate teacher whenever necessary.
- Monitor student activities and keep student safe.
- Attend Elevate preparation sessions, seminars, and in-services as needed to improve knowledge and skills and to keep current with the latest in-service equipment, material and functions, as it pertains to Elevate K-12's needs.
- Responsible for communicating any issues with the Elevate tech team during the class via the Fresh Chat feature.
- Use classroom materials and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Print any worksheets and/or notes for a lesson in advance. Communicate with the Elevate teacher to prepare for lessons each week.
- Perform emergency tasks and procedure in the classroom as needed and directed per school and Elevate policies.
