The National Account Manager is responsible for managing the internal and external customer needs for BMC’s National Builders across assigned Division(s). This role is well suited for organized individuals with a solid understanding of our business and a desire to get involved on a regional and national level. You will work independently, as well as with peers in sales, marketing and operations to identify and expand National Builder/Regional Builder sales opportunities. This position is a hunter role in the development and management of business opportunities. It will also be critical to develop relationships of regional and national accounts. With the amount of follow up needed in this part of our business, it is key that this individual has excellent written and verbal communication skills. This role will be located on the East Coast.

Major Responsibilities:
Using your knowledge of the building materials industry, grow and develop long-lasting new relationships while actively seeking out new relationships.

Develop and implement innovative sales strategies and processes that drive higher levels of growth through market penetration.
Negotiate and maintain sales volume and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
Develop and create deliverable sales presentation documents, proposals and business reviews.
Provide a timely and effective sales presentation to prospective customers to ensure that the product and services offered are thoroughly explained and understood.
Create and maintain Customer Account management data.
Maintain/review Corporate Purchasing and Supplier Contracts to ensure alignment with ROI
Manage and communicate with customers on their annual events.
Coordinate national events and sales meetings in partnership with Field Marketing and Sales.
Attend and participate in company and industry meetings and events.
Develop and maintain spreadsheets and meaningful reports for use in reviews and ease of communication with customers and internal departments (i.e.-forecasting, pricing, presentation strategy).
Proactively lead strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones.
Establish and maintain relationships with Key National and Regional Account Customers coupled with facilitating and supporting the daily needs of our National and Regional Builder customers.
Frequently contact current customer base to keep a good working relationship. Ensure that the customer is satisfied with the current service. Work with the appropriate internal team members to resolve any problems (invoices, service, access, monitoring, etc.).
Provide excellent customer service, wowing our existing and potential customers and co-workers with a professional and positive approach, quick response time and effectiveness at answering their questions.
Work with internal cross-functional team to meet deadlines and exceed customer expectations.
Coach and mentor outside and inside Sales Team on product and sales initiatives for key accounts.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience.
Lumber/Truss/ Millwork and related industry knowledge/experience. Basic knowledge of building plans and estimating process. Ready-Frame experience is helpful. Ability to coordinate estimates and work with our design teams across markets.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create and present compelling proposals at all levels within the organization.
Must be highly organized and able to switch tasks at hand with little notice.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment, be able to tolerate ambiguity as we develop processes and operate entrepreneurially to accomplish deliverables.
Skilled in the use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc., including CRM and/or ERP sales module for sales opportunity reporting and tracking.

Required Experience
Minimum experience required: 7 years related experience in a National Account role, Field Marketing or Outside Production Builder Sales within the Building Materials Industry.
Experience with strategic planning at the account and divisional level is ideal.
Track record of successfully achieving sales quotas in growth organizations.
Experience building business plans and prioritizing sales efforts effectively to achieve business objectives.
