Position: Warehouse Packer
Location: Empire, MI
Position Summary:
Cherry Republic’s Warehouse Packer is responsible for picking products from inventory by hand, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment. As a Warehouse Packer, you'll have the opportunity to fill any one of the following roles: Packer, Picker, Sleever, or Shipper.
This is a seasonal position, beginning between October and November and ending no later than December 31st. It operates on-site in Empire, MI. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must be able to be in Empire, MI to complete the duties required for this position.
Physical Requirements: This position is very manual and physical. Candidates must have the ability to do the following with or without accommodation:
- Ability to stand stationary in a specific location for long periods of time.
- Frequent tasks using strength and manual dexterity. Ability to lift, push, pull, and twist up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Repetitive movement while using various packaging materials.
- Frequent use of hands while working in an industrial environment; including shred, dust, and noise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Place products or materials into boxes, using hands.
- Arrange products and materials appropriately to ensure safe delivery.
- Verify that the products contained within the box are what is listed on the invoice or order form.
- Seal boxes, using tape or other required tools.
- Use scissors to trim packing materials.
- Ensure products and boxes are packed tightly.
- Perform necessary labeling in preparation for shipment.
- Complete any required paperwork for proper inventory control.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Properly dispose of any packing materials or packing equipment after each shift.
- Report any defective products, tools, or equipment to shift manager.
Specific Role Duties:
- Packer: Arrange products and shipping materials appropriately to ensure safe delivery.
- Picker: Select the correct gift box for each order, ensure the correct items are put in each box, and keep paperwork with each order.
- Sleever: Pack gift boxes in the correct shipping boxes and add fill/void as necessary.
- Shipper: Use the ERP system to create accurate shipping labels and build pallets for putting on shipping trucks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Packer reports directly to the Warehouse Line Supervisor and has no supervisory responsibilities.
