Regional Practice Operations Manager

PS2 Practice Management - Washington, DC


BASIC FUNCTION: Serves as a resource support a national management organization serving plastic surgery practices, primarily in the Northern Virginia area.


  • Develops relationships with physicians, proactively addresses their needs
  • Resolves issues in real time
  • Continuously assesses patient and staff schedules, implements changes to ensure efficient workflow
  • Responsible for all aspects of recruiting for practices for non-clinical staff positions
  • Responsible for conducting staff performance reviews
  • Creates and maintains staff schedules for multiple practices
  • Conducts 1:1 meetings and staff meetings with office personnel
  • Performs all payroll processing duties for practices
  • Handles staff issues and concerns in a timely and confidential manner
  • Handle patient complaints
  • Prepares annual budgets for review
  • Prepares a review and analysis of monthly financial performance; reports out findings to shareholder’s / physician owners
  • Maintains accurate records and files
  • Implements inventory planning systems
  • Compiles and reports monthly practice statistics
  • Tracks and reports out on marketing ROI by channel for practices
  • Identifies and implements cost effective approaches to day-to-day practice management issues
  • Serves as subject matter expert for new policies/procedures
  • Assists in the development of a policies and procedures manual
  • Ensures new equipment is ordered/delivered and properly installed
  • Assists practices with accreditation survey preparedness as appropriate
  • Responsible for ensuring all licenses are accurate and current
  • Ensures practices are in compliance with medical regulations (e.g. OSHA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Partners with MSO Implementation Manager and Billing Manager to on-board new practices
  • Performs special projects to evaluate methods and procedures for processing work or improving operating efficiency/effectiveness of the practice
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
  • Establish project quality expectations
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and Director in a timely and clear fashion
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the teams
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical pathways
  • Attends meetings, participates on committees and reports to shareholder’s / physician owners on a quarterly basis
  • Presents as needed to physicians in given region regarding MSO services


Education: Bachelors Degree in Business or Public Health


  • 5+ years experience as a Practice Manager, preferably in a Plastic Surgery office;
  • Multi-site management experience required
  • Project Management background required; certification a plus
  • Excellent ability to write reports
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis of a surgical practice
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to collect data and analyze data
  • Excellent communication skills and positive outlook
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
