General Summary/Purpose:
Under the direction of the CTL Audio Team Leader, this position will prepare and coach Bloomberg faculty and other subject matter experts to record digital audio content for use in online courses, trainings,or MOOCs. This staff member will collaborate with all other CTL team members to develop professional quality graduate level educational content.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as an authority, provide expertise, and perform highly specialized work assignments in audio and multimedia production. Supervises preparation of audio recordings and assures editorial integrity of content. Advising and directing faculty prior to recording sessions with various coaching strategies, practice sessions, and script review. Provide direction to faculty during recordings on matters of content, delivery, clarity and continuity.

Research, conceptualize, define and communicate ideas and issues to administration and staff to provide insight, recommend action, and pursue innovative solutions to problems related to multimedia productions and facilities in which multimedia productions are created. Provide advice and counsel, serving as a consultant to other staff members within the unit and campus within the area of multimedia production.

Assure professional quality production and efficient execution of projects by working with staff and faculty on coordination of pre and post production details with appropriate personnel. Prepare documentation on each recorded lecture segment to allow technical writers, instructional designers, medical illustrator, and web developers to create the best quality product efficiently.

Exercise extensive knowledge and methodology of audio and multimedia production. Keep abreast of relevant legislation, rules, regulations, tools, procedures, technical specifications, and developments in audio and multimedia production. Advise CTL on proposed multimedia policies and procedures based on judgment and expert knowledge.

Pursue professional development activities to expand knowledge and skills. Attend events related to the audio/visual industry to stay well-informed of the latest technologies and techniques related to distance learning, as well.

Coordinate working relationships with peers and other appropriate University personnel to achieve defined goals and objectives. Foster a positive long-term client relationship by accurately assessing their needs and by delivering effective and creative solutions.

Train faculty and/or staff on multimedia programs as needed.

Edit raw, in-studio audio recordings to produce polished lecture presentations. Synchronize recorded audio with PowerPoint presentations.

Prepare audio notes about each lecture segment. This documentation allows technical writers, instructional designers, and medical illustrator to create the best quality product.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED.

Four (4) years related experience including experience recording the spoken word, coordinating multimedia projects, preferably in an academic and/or national broadcast setting.

Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a discipline relevant to multimedia services or an appropriate combination of education and relevant experience.
At least 1 year of experience coordinating multimedia projects preferably in a University setting.
Previous experience with ProTools, Audacity, VoiceThread, PowerPoint recording, Panopto for recording and editng audio
Previous experience with project management softwarFour years related experience.e Jira, Bootcamp, MS Project
Ability to learn new software applications as needed
Excellent problem solving, written, and oral communication skills.

Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
