The Proposals & Contracts Developer supports Global/Regional Account Managers, Sales Management, and the Professional Services department in the drafting of Sales Order contracts. The Proposals & Contracts Developer is an expert in the contracting and pricing methodologies for Medidata’s products and services, and interface with numerous departments within Medidata as well as with our customers to share that expertise.
Develop Sales Orders using the quoting and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tool and/or pricing methodology as required.
Coach and train personnel within Medidata on the quoting and CLM tool processes and pricing methodology as appropriate.
Facilitate reviews and approvals by appropriate departments of aspects of the Sales Orders in order to finalize for delivery to the customer.
Interface with the Legal department to expedite legal review and approval of final Sales Orders as required.
Develop and maintain customer-specific guidelines for unique customer pricing and/or Sales Order formats.
Facilitate regular updates and maintenance to contractual templates as required.
Recommend, detail the requirements, and test improvements to the quoting and CLM tool.
Assist in contractual data analysis.
Assist with ad hoc projects as required.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid analytical and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Self-motivating, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner
Your Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent years of relevant experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in the life sciences industry and/or medical/clinical operations required
Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, business, finance, or computer science
Contract management experience within CROs or other application software providers
Experience utilizing a contract lifecycle management (CLM) system for drafting, processing, executing, and/or storing contracts
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Visual Basic for Applications, macros and advanced security techniques
