At least 6 months experience in agency, state and/or federal laws, rules, standards, and regulations governing child care and/or child welfare programs (e.g., staffing, management, licensure, certification, and operation of residential care or child care)
At least 6 months experience in inspection and investigation techniques pertinent to evaluating compliance of child care and/or child welfare programs, agencies, caregivers, operations, facilities, and/or Children's Residential Centers (CRCs)
A valid driver's license
The equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
Note: Applicants for positions in Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (child care licensing) must also meet one of the trainer requirements cited in Administrative Rules 5101:2-12-10 or 5101:2-13-10 (see Appendix A and/or Appendix B).
Major Worker Characteristics:
Knowledge of child growth and development, agency, state and/or federal laws, rules, standards and regulations governing staffing, management, licensure, certification and operation of child care and/or child welfare programs and/or agencies; inspection and investigation techniques pertinent to evaluating compliance of programs/operations, facilities and/or CRCs; human relations; public relations; interviewing.
Skill in operation of office equipment and personal computer.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; write meaningful, concise and accurate reports; gather, collate, classify and analyze information about data, people or things; handle sensitive inquiries from contacts, officials and the public.

Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be set at step 1 of the pay range (currently $25.01 per hour). If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with such.
