JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Executive Director (ED)

Department: Operations Management

Reports To: Regional Director of Operations

GENERAL PURPOSE

To lead and direct the overalloperations of the facility in accordance with customer needs, governmentregulations and Company policies, with focus on maintaining excellent care forthe residents/patients while achieving the facility's business objectives.Serve as a mentor to guide and support all other assigned facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

· Leadsthe facility management staff and consultants in developing and working from abusiness plan that focuses on all aspects of facility operations, includingsetting priorities and job assignments. Monitors each department's activities,communicates policies, evaluates performance, provides feedback, and assists,observes, coaches and disciplines as needed

· Developsan environment that allows for creative thinking, problem solving andempowerment in the development of a facility

· managementteam

· Overseesregular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care, operation of supportdepartments, cleanliness and appearance of the facility; moral of the staff;and ensures resident needs are being addressed

· Exhibitspositive customer service both to internal and external customers through theongoing support and implementation of the

· Company’sHealth and Rehabilitation Services customer service initiatives and businessobjectives. Utilizes survey information to address areas of importance asdefined by our customers

· Ensuresconsultants and other support resources are appropriately utilized and a highlevel of interdepartmental teamwork is maintained

· Ensuresthe building and grounds are appropriately maintained and that equipment andwork areas are clean, safe and orderly, and any hazardous conditions areaddressed; ensure that Universal Precaution and Infection Control, Isolation,Fire Safety and Sanitation practices and procedures are followed

· Maintaina working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations

· MonitorHuman Resources practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and companypolicies, and to ensure practices that maintain high morale and staff retentionto include effective communication, prompt problem resolution, proactive supervisorypractices, and maintaining a proactive work environment. Manage turnover andensure current and future staffing through development of recruiting sources,and through appropriate selection, orientation, training, staff education anddevelopment

· Managefacility budgets and business practices to include labor costs, payables, andreceivables. Monitor business activities to ensure procedures and standards arefollowed, appropriate handling of funds and that sound credible businesspractices are followed at all times. Communicate budget guidelines and expectations to department managers.Meet established budget and Accounts Receivable goals.

· Developand implement a marketing strategy for the facility that reflects serviceopportunities, competition, potential market area

· changes,and which maximizes census, payor mix, and ancillary revenues. Lead and monitorkey staff and facility staff to play an active role in carrying out themarketing plan. Take initiative in evaluation, development and implementationof new business opportunities that meets the needs of the community andbenefits the facility/Company

· Developspositive relationships on behalf of the Company with government regulators,residents, families, area health care, physicians, and the community at large.Acts as a resource of information to the community related to health careissues

· Complywith, support and enforce Company policies involving all safety and infectioncontrol procedures to include the proper use of mechanical lifts, gait beltsand personal protective back supports

· Promoteand understanding of and compliance with all rules regarding resident's rights;promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators, toinclude presenting a professional appearance and attitude

· Supervise,conduct and participate in department and facility education activities andstaff meetings

· Utilizethe quality improvement process in all areas of facility operation

· Performsthe role of compliance liaison as described in the attached addendum

CODE OF CONDUCT

QUALIFICATIONS

· BachelorsDegree

· Currentlylicensed as Nursing Home Administrator in state of practice

· Completionof the company EDIT Program and/or prior experience as an ExecutiveDirector/Administrator

· Experiencein performance management and effective leadership

· Abilityto travel, including overnight stays

· Mustbe capable of maintaining regular attendance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS

· Abilityto complete multiple projects

· Computerskills of the types and at a level necessary to accomplish the job

· Capableof working with minimal supervision

· Mustbe able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient, employee, and companyproprietary information

· Mustbe able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families andgovernment regulators, and to work cooperatively with other employees at alllevels

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting(minimum of 10 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, theability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions,ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
