Microsoft Services Secure Infrastructure Domain is looking for an Architect Manager to manage and lead a highly skilled team of architects for the Americas to support our growing business. Preferred candidates will need to have a mix of strong technical experience and strategic business acumen. This role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to provide strategic solution direction and solution leadership for the Americas Secure Infrastucture (SI) Domain.
The SI Domain Architect Manager leads a team of delivery architects and will be responsible for developing strategies and solutions that align to Microsoft Services delivery capabilities and business goals with Microsoft product and industry trends. This person will provide architecture leadership and solution delivery quality oversight and lead the team in developing new delivery capabilities. This role is involved in business and technical risk management as well as the entire pre-sales and delivery lifecycles, with broad focus on delivery architect talent, consistent delivery, innovation and technology alignment.
The Architect Manager is a leadership position that works closely with all other Services Leadership teams in supporting the sales strategy and delivery plans across the business: Pre-Sales Strategy, Consulting and Support.
Duties of the Architect Manager include:
Effective leadership, showing executive maturity and building a high performing team
Provide assistance and oversight to critical and for recovery of selected troubled engagements
Help ensure that required technical and business criteria are met on critical projects
Resource & capacity planning solution architect team
Drive on boarding and ongoing training of Architects
Help to define readiness and training approach and activities for the team and developing the next generation of architects
Career and performance management of a team of architects
Recognizing excellence - supporting, rewarding and encouraging key technical leaders
Being a visible role model - demonstrating the integrity and career potential
Growing talent - coaching, supporting and guiding top talent
Support the sales motion and value proposition, driving Application and Infrastructure and Modern Workplace solution area sales
Ensure staffing of pre-sales architects to appropriate engagements
Support pre-sales to define goals, scope and ultimately estimates for services engagements
Customer solution focus to drive integration with other domains for sales and delivery
Interact with customer CxOs for key pursuits
2 or more Years of IT Management Experience in a consulting or services environment
8+ Years of Services Delivery experience with a minimum of 10+ years of professional enterprise environment experience
Bachelors Degree (B.S./B.A.) preferred
Solid understanding of Business and IT strategyand principled approach to broad architectural challenges and opportunities
Written and verbal fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese
Able to establish trusted advisor relationships with senior and executive levels within Microsoft
Ability to move between high level architectural review/design and tactical work of delivering projects
Ability to run sales and people operations in a reliable manner, from account planning and engagement sales, through delivery to customer satisfaction and renewal, with an inflexible focus on quality and continuous improvement
Significant experience in people management and proven talent for team leadership, driving teams for performance and growth through customer satisfaction, including remote team experience
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage resources and orchestrate multi-organizational physical and virtual resources and initiatives
Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure, Identity, Security, and Device management and deployment technologies, as well as, key solutions and services that leverage these technologies
Large enterprise deployment experience in complex environments
In depth knowledge and understanding of the competitive marketplace for secure infrastructure solutions, including OSS and DevOps.
Travel for this role will be at least 50% as is demanded by the needs of our customers and our business within Canada, Latin America (LATAM) and the United States. This position location is flexible and will be within the United States.
