This Freelance Assistant Buyer role is for an established fashion company that specializes in men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, home goods and more. This lively, developing company is looking for a talented and organized Freelance Assistant Buyer to work in their corporate offices.
Position Overview: The Freelance Assistant Buyer will be working closely with the Merchandising and Buying teams to set up new product options, create and monitor purchase orders, assist with the creation and distribution of weekly sales reports and more. This Freelance Assistant Buyer role requires organization, Excel skills, the ability to pick up on new systems, and communication with all cross-functional teams and external partners.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Buyer:
Performs the administrative and operational functions supporting the buying team
Responsible for the full life cycle of purchase orders as well as markdowns
Write the PO’s, changes, cancellations and necessary follow ups to ensure key shipments are delivered and processed
Provide on going analysis and interpretation of ad hoc reports and weekly sales reports
Ensure the effective relationship with vendors
Accurately represent liquidity and adhering to PO management policies
Qualifications for the Assistant Buyer:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience within a retail or fashion role
Proficient in Excel, including v-Look ups, pivot tables
Strong attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree- or equivalent
