Junior / Assistant / Associate Research Scientist
New York University College of Dentistry is seeking a full-time Junior and/or Assistant and/or Associate Research Scientist to work in Dr. May Khanna’s laboratory n the Department of Molecular Pathobiology at New York University College of Dentistry. They will work on projects that involve protein-protein, protein-RNA and RNA interactions with small molecules. They will assist the principal investigator’s research by writing SOPs for all the purification of the proteins and RNA. They will also need to write up the purification protocols for grant applications. They will also learn techniques in protein expression and purification, RNA transcription and purification. They will need to have some skills in basic biophysical techniques such as Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). The research scientist will need to understand protein structure and how to define structure using NMR, such as 2D 15N-HSQC NMR. They will use basic 1D NMR to define folding of RNA structures.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary ranges for this position at the ranks of Junior Research Scientist, Assistant Research Scientist and Associate Research Scientist are $47,500 - $64,000, $59,000 - $76,000 and $73,000 - $95,000, respectively. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
