Functions/Duties of Position
This position will serve as the subject matter expert for the outpatient clinic projects related to medication dispensing workflow, project management, system build and maintenance and precepting pharmacy residents and students.

Additionally, the position will provide the services of a licensed pharmacist which includes the responsibility for the safe and proper distribution and use of drugs in inpatients and outpatients who range in age from neonates, infants less than one year of age, children and adolescents ages 10-18, adults ages 19-65 and the elderly over age 65. This position functions within a departmental unit which is responsible for programmatically optimizing drug use in the institution, through development, implementation, analysis and redesign of use guidelines in a variety of formats and practice situations.

The Incumbent will observe due care, objectivity and respect for confidentiality. All employees must keep confidential what they hear and what they see when handling, reviewing or observing: communications and records thereof (calls, email, pages, fax, etc.), data transmission, databases, or other forms of information. Confidentiality extends to the identities of the parties of the communications, and even to the fact that the communication took place. When sharing information, consider whether the recipient has a true “business need to know.”

Job Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
Pharmacy Informatics Residency training required; OR
Equivalent work experience in practice and informatics
Knowledge of pharmacy services within an integrated health-system utilizing various information technologies such as computerized-prescriber order entry, point-of-care bar-code medication administration, and automated dispensing cabinets, is highly desirable
Knowledge of outcomes analysis with regard to data warehouses and data mining are desirable
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written presentation
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and in a complex team environment; collaborate with external and internal professionals and other customers
Ability to manage multiple tasks with ease and efficiency
Ability to provide leadership and promote teamwork
Ability to effectively conduct educational presentations
Skills in prioritization, problem solving, organization, decision-making, time management, and planning
Ability to manage large scale projects
Licensure in the State of Oregon
Must be able to work at a workstation for up to 7-8 hours a day
Must be mobile enough to travel to the various retail pharmacy sites
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Pharmacy Residency training required; OR
Equivalent work experience in outpatient practice and/or informatics
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
