Pacific Rail Services has multiple positions available for full-time permanent Experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our Team in a recession proof industry at the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Rail Terminal & Rutherford Rail Terminal. These are essential jobs with year round work + overtime.
This is a full time Permanent Position. It is hourly pay with yearly income ranging from $50,000-$70,000 a year with overtime included.
- Pay rate is commensurate with experience.
- Schedule is daylight (typically 8-12 hours daily)

Qualifications:
- Should have a minimum of 1-year experience in the mechanical field and be preventative maintenance minded.
- Must have own tools (Yearly tool allowance provided).
- Must have extensive knowledge working with Air, Electrical, Hydraulic and Diesel systems and components.
- Will need a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a 7-year background check, a drug test, and a Physical Capabilities Test.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.
- Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. ...
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems.
- Maintain lift equipment & Hostler Fleet
- Assist in other areas as needed by managers.
Applicants for this role must meet the general requirements for employment with the company, according to the Company hiring process which include:
- Must have a valid Driver's License. **NO CDL REQUIRED**
- Must be able to pass a 7 year background check. (Any felonies in the last 7 yrs jail time in the last 5 yrs or pending charges could disqualify applicants)
- Must be able to pass a drug test & a Physical Capabilities Test.
- (No GED or diploma required)
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- You will eventually be required to provide your own tools.
