To blend and package the industry’s finest coffee through excellent performance, attendance, and attitude; while prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity in order to serve all of Caribou’s retail and wholesale customers.
Load coffee into Scolari blending system as demanded.
Unload floor loaded trucks utilizing the Strong Arm equipment.
Inspect inbound bags for insect infestation.
Package blended coffee into super sacks for K-Cup operation utilizing the tumble drum equipment.
Load and unload pallet trucks and neatly stack bags and pallets.
Perform cleaning and sanitation according to respective schedules and in accordance with established Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs and SSOPs).
Bring any issues pertinent to production directly to Green Coffee Inventory Manager, Team Lead, Production Roastery Supervisor, or Coffee Production Manager.
Communicate any issues concerning equipment problems to Team Lead, or Supervisory personnel and/or Engineering Department.
Maintain sanitation and safety/shutdown documentation to ensure clean and safe operations.
Participate in training of new Production Team Members.
Execute necessary quality assurance procedures “on the floor.”
Maintain all production quality assurance documentation.
Communicate any quality or contamination concerns to Green Coffee Inventory Manager, Team Leads, or Supervisory personnel.
Adhere to all established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) standards.
Maintain all maintenance & sanitation programs as directed by Team Leads or Supervisory personnel.
Perform all maintenance and sanitation actions as listed on maintenance & sanitation program schedule as directed by Team Lead.
Alert Team Leads or Supervisory personnel to any safety & facility/equipment concerns in blending, and green coffee warehousing.
Maintain established standards of cleanliness in work center.
Understand and comply with all Food Safety and related programs, such as but not limited to GMP's, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Adverse Health Policy.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/production setting and/or a fast paced environment.
At least 1 year of coffee industry experience is strongly desired.
Basic manufacturing equipment familiarity and setup desired.
Previous forklift driving experience and/or license a plus.
Clear written and verbal communications.
Forklift certification on our lifting equipment.
Good time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Adhere to company policies, programs, and work rules.
Perform work in a timely and professional manner.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and results driven.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Able to take direction and follow through multi-step project steps/procedures consistently.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment.
- The physical requirements for this position are:
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds 20% of the shift
- Must be able to work while standing or walking for the duration of 9+ hour shifts.
- Must be able to endure constant leaning and bending during shift
- Must be able to handle/move up to 750 pound bins on casters
