Production PROCESSORS needed for our shore-based plants located in DUTCHHARBOR, Alaska and UNALASKA, Alaska. Work will begin in First Week of January 2020.
WSI processes several species of seafood including Pollock, Crab,Pacific Cod, Halibut and Sablefish. Production employees process raw productthat is delivered from fishing vessels to sell to customers. Processors can beassigned to various positions within the production department including, butnot limited to, butchering, sorting, filleting, and case-up. Processors arealso required to participate in plant clean-up, and other duties as assigned.
This position requires the candidate have the ability to perform thephysical requirements including; standing in place for long periods of time;repetitive motions using hands, arms, legs and back; regularly lift and move 50lbs; frequent rotations and twisting at waist; frequent climbing and descendingof stairs; working long hours in cold/wet environments (12+ hours per day, 7days a week); and prompt and regular attendance.
All WSI employees are required to wear protective safety gear whererequired and are responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe workingenvironment for self and others.
WSI has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol.
You will be charged $15 per dayfor room and board. This will be deducted from your paycheck.

Must be at least 18 years of age, and must pass a post-offer drugscreen and physical. Processors must be able to stand and work for long hoursin an often wet and cold environment. Shifts will vary depending on fish, and processors must be prepared towork 7 days a week for up to 18 hours per day. There may also be periods oftime when there are few or no hours of work. Must be able to repeatedly lift upto 50 pounds. Must have a basicunderstanding of English, including the ability to follow written or oralinstructions. Must be able to climb stairs, and stand and walk on uneven andslippery surfaces. Must be willing towork any shift, including nights. Processing employees must be able to walk quickly to designated areas inthe event of an emergency and must be able to follow emergencyinstructions. All WSI employees must bewilling to work and live in a multi-cultural environment.
