Job Summary:
Assists the technologists and/or nurses in all patient activities, assures procedure rooms are prepared for patients, assists technologists/nurses in the exam room as required, assists the technologist/nurse in retrieving patient's clinical history and assists in associated paperwork, assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocol of checking at least two patient identifiers prior to completing examination, retrieves prior films/images as required, assists patients in dressing for procedures, sends for and/or transports patients, as needed, ensures that all procedure rooms are stocked with supplies. Demonstrates appropriate computer skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Knowledgeable of Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practice. Reports directly to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor.
Performance Expectations:
- Able to assist Nuclear Medicine Technologist with patients prior, during, and post nuclear scanning procedure
- Able to transport patients as required
- Able to prep patients for Nuclear Medicine and Cardiac personnel prior to stress tests
- Able to utilize two patient identifiers when acquiring patients for procedures
- Assist in other aide type positions with in the main department when required

Education/Skills
High School Diploma/GED required
Work Experience:
Previous hospital experience is desired
