Overview:

Our coffee roasting team is a small team of bright, dedicated people running 100 miles a minute and getting a lot of work done. We are looking for a couple friendly, detail-oriented full-time Coffee Packaging Associates to join our constantly-expanding team. The right candidate will be responsible for grinding and bagging coffee, sealing bags, while maintaining quality controls, and assisting team lead in production/packaging operations.

Job Duties:

  • Perform the setup and operation of packaging and bagging equipment on designated product lines according to the production schedule
  • Maintain and clean machines as required
  • Observe equipment operations, monitor standard running conditions and parameters, and perform necessary adjustments to ensure quality and productivity standards
  • Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out
  • Ensure all safety devices and guards are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed
  • Ensure all production complies with quality and food safety standards
  • Follow all food safety requirements, rules, and standards
  • Clean and sanitize equipment in accordance to food safety standards
  • Assist with changeovers properly and efficiently
  • Responsible for packaging integrity and appearance
  • Perform safety checks on every machine prior to and during runtime
  • Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output
  • Ensure that sufficient material is available to meet the production quota and scheduled run
  • Setup operational parameters (run speed, quantity, shapes, and sizes) on machine terminals or controls
  • Create and maintain activity/job logs as required
  • Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required
  • Meet specified production performance targets of quality, output, cost and waste reduction
  • Participate in production process improvement efforts

Necessary Skills:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Food handler certification desired
  • Uphold company values and have a passion for coffee
  • Previous packaging machine experience helpful
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to input data into the computer
  • Ability to prioritize and withstand routine and repetitive work
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Experience using a forklift preferred
  • Desire to continually learn
  • Solution oriented and self-motivated
  • Ability to handle and work in high pressure and time-sensitive situations
  • Excellent communication skills with a great attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 to $13.00 /hour
