FirstLight Fiber is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our technical team.


The Network Engineer will provide Layer 2 and Layer 3 expertise managing our Corporate LAN/WAN, Internet, wireless networks, and remote access environments spanning across the Northeast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·WAN – manage telecom networks for corporate environment

·Network Routing and Switching – Cisco Catalyst, OSPF, BGP

·Firewall – Palo Alto, design and manage firewall deployments and policies, AV, IPS, IDS

·Network hardware management – automated configuration management RANCID

·Linux Server Administration – Syslog archiving

·Remote Access VPN – Manage and maintain remote access environment, ASA, AnyConnect, SSTP, NPS, RSA SecurID

·Site-to-Site VPN – configure and maintain remote sites connected via IPSec tunnels

·Wireless – maintain, manage, and update Meraki environment

·End User Security – manage employee security awareness training efforts

·Endpoint Security – endpoint monitoring, reporting, vulnerability testing/patching

·IT Infrastructure Security – penetration testing, patch deployment auditing

·Level 3 network support for IT Team, helpdesk ticket escalation

Qualification Knowledge and Skills:

·Advanced knowledge of local area networks and TCP/IP

·Minimum 5 years relevant experience using Cisco Routers, Switches, and Firewalls

·Advanced level knowledge of routing protocols OSPF, BGP

·Advanced level knowledge of LAN redundancy and address management

·Cisco Voice over IP (VOIP) networks

·Knowledge of networking on multiple platforms: Windows, UNIX, Linux, VMWare


·Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent additional years of experience

·CCNA certification
