SOME Inc., seeks an Admissions Assistant for our Center for Employment Training (CET) program. This position serves as a first point of contact, a bridge between the public and this vocational program. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with customer service and administrative experience to join our team of caring professionals. This position is in a brand-new state -of the- art building across the street from the Benning Road metro station. SOME Inc., offers a 401K match up to 10% after your first year of employment.

Position Description: Execute the entire application process for new students including intakes, document collection, scheduling appointments, returning calls, completing case notes, and screening prospective students.

Schedule: 25 hours per week Monday-Friday 8:30 am-1:30 pm, flexibility needed

Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma; 2-4 yrs. experience in housing services or social services

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; 5-7 yrs. experience in education or social services

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to engage with potential residents from a client-centered approach to services
Ability to prepare and maintain records as well as prepare reports
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and customers in a friendly pleasant manner
Ability to work independently
Ability to learn resident database and become a super user
Ability to work with diverse audiences
Knowledge of FERPA
Organizational skills with an attention to detail
Must be able to oversee multiple projects
Training and facilitation skills
Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Salesforce, Skype for Business
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as telephones, personal computers, scanning and copying machines

Expected Contributions:
Administrative Support: Assist prospective students throughout the application process; Collect and maintain documentation of prospective residents; administer drug screens; conduct individual intake assessments.
Admissions Support: Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students. Enroll students into the CET program. Provide a personal touch to the students making them feel welcomed and engaged. Use discernment and discretion when making the decision to accept a student in to the program.
Data Entry: Use Sales Force to record personal and private student information. Responsible or collecting student information and accurately entering the data.
