Summary: The Receptionist/Customer Service Assistant is responsible for directing all incoming calls and handling a variety of administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer and direct incoming calls in a courteous, enthusiastic, and positive, manner.
Cordially greet clients & visitors, answering questions & providing information.
Perform clerical support duties such as issuing insurance certificates, ordering motor vehicle reports, making copies, faxing, filing, etc.
Print & mail monthly insurance loss runs reports to specific clients.
Sort and distribute incoming mail. Process outgoing mail via postage meter; maintain meter postage and supplies. Arrange for FedEx/UPS pickups.
Order/Maintain office supplies inventory.
Prepare renewal letters for CSR accounts.
Maintain files & file room, pulling/repositioning and preparing boxes for storage. Responsible for dead files.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
Prior experience in an office environment desirable.
Must enroll in pre-licensing P&C Courses and pass state exam.
Must obtain a Maryland license in P&C insurance within 15 months of completing 1 year of employment.
Demonstrate high PC Skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Advanced typing skills.
Knowledge of Applied, EPIC systems preferred.
Must have excellent telephone manners at all times.
Must be efficient, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must also have the ability to work effectively with others.
Must convey a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk.
Moderate to high stress level due to high pace, high volume calls, and daily challenges.
High finger dexterity while performing data entry most of the time.
Occasionally lift up to 20lbs.
