Founded in 1999, BUILD uses entrepreneurship-based, experiential learning to ignite the potential of youth in under-resourced communities and equip them for high school, college and career success. BUILD’s unique program offers students a four-year entrepreneurship experience designed to develop 21st Century Skills and motivate student engagement in school. Starting in 9th grade, BUILD students work with their peers and community mentors to develop business ideas, pitch to funders and launch real businesses. As they journey through high school, BUILD provides students with support in navigating the college application process and the opportunity to explore college and career options, while expanding their businesses or opting into community internships.

Position Summary::
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving the recruitment, onboarding and retention of a variety of volunteers while supporting strategic corporate, community-based, and other partnerships that offer funding networks, and opportunities for BUILD students. BUILD volunteer roles include, but are not limited to mentors, venture capital advisors, graphic designers, and special event volunteers. In addition, the Partnerships Manager will ensure high quality experiences for all BUILD Bay Area volunteers and work with the Bay Area Program Directors to create effective adult learning experiences. The Partnerships Manager will also identify and execute fundraising initiatives for mentors and volunteers as well as support fundraising efforts of the broader BUILD Bay Area development team.

Position Responsibilities::Fundraising and Strategic Relationship Management::
Support identification, cultivation, and maintenance of strategic partnerships with corporations, community organizations, and others that yield a pipeline of volunteers, funding, and other resources
Develop a cultivation strategy for individuals serving as mentors, judges, and volunteers to ensure positive volunteer experience
Develop giving campaigns targeted for mentors and volunteers and contribute to other fundraising activities and events as needed
Lead the Bay Area’s regional social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), with the assistance of the full BUILD Bay Area team.

Volunteer Recruitment, Retention & Training::
Oversee the recruitment, engagement and retention of a variety of volunteers
Build awareness for the BUILD program and volunteer opportunities at information sessions and similar opportunities
Manage volunteer applications via BUILD’s Salesforce platform; execute a robust screening process; and support placement of volunteers
Collaborate with Program staff to design and execute region-wide orientations, trainings, appreciation events/campaigns, and evaluation systems to ensure accountability and a high-quality volunteer experience
Ensure accurate volunteer tracking in Salesforce database
Articulate volunteer impact with data and storytelling

Skills and Qualifications::
2+ years relevant work experience in education, volunteer management, account management, civic engagement, recruiting, or youth development; non-profit experience a plus
Effective communicator and relationship manager with an interest in building and highlighting connections between communities
Familiarity with Salesforce or other relational databases preferred

Position Details::
Location: San Francisco, Bay Area. (Redwood City, preferred)
Status: Exempt, Regular Full-Time
Travel: Frequent travel between local sites and partnership meetings is required, so employees must have their own vehicle, or other viable mode, for transportation (valid license and proof of insurance required); mileage for work-related travel beyond the normal commute will be reimbursed.
Occasional weekend and overtime hours required.
