We are seeking a Warehouse – Packaging Transportation Specialist to join our team at our headquarters office in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will have operational responsibility for 3rd Party Warehousing/packaging for the Polyethylene business and assist on the NAO/PAO area as needed. CPChem currently exports over 2B lbs. of resin per year and this position is the liason between our business unit and those service providers. The position will report directly to the Global Motor Carrier and Bulk Services Manager. #HPCP
Participates in the auditing process of CPChem’s warehouse and packaging partners.
Drives continuous improvement in warehouse quality and training programs based upon cost and product line needs/goals.
Assists service providers in using best practices for the training process of their employees.
Identifies cost improvement opportunities and implement actions to capture.
Drives down the costs for repackaging performed in the Asia and EAME region due to quality issues
Leads warehouse/packaging activities around CPChem's Operational Excellence Program
Active participant of the CPChem Performance by Design program
Maintains and expand CPChem’s relationships with warehouse & packaging service providers.
Manages customer complaints and claims to resolution (CFS System), including identifying the cause and identifying process improvements with the service providers.
Liaison for investigation and resolution of invoicing issues or claims against warehouse/packaging service providers.
Develops appropriate internal relationships with CPChem business units, ASO- Area Sales Offices and provide assistance and guidance relating to their packaging needs.
Coordinates with regional warehouses in areas of best practices and unloading procedures
Works in tandem with the Commercial Warehouse & Packaging Specialist to coordinate services
Communicates with JV partners to share lessons learned of packaging in region
Monitors and evaluates warehouse portfolio as it relates to industry regulatory requirements and maintain these measures within CPChem’s processes and procedures.
Key member of team in charge of any RFI or RFP activities for packaging/warehousing services
Evaluates prospective warehouse & packaging service providers as CPChem plans on additional expansion of export volumes to support future projects
Provides input for monthly, annual and ad hoc warehouse reports to SC management.
Involvement in industry associations as needed.
Expands CPChem standards and specifications for packaging quality in 25kg bags, gaylord boxes and seabulk lined containerized cargo
Improves the use of packaging supplies such as wooden and plastic recycled content pallets
Coordinates equipment requirements and ensure adequate availability to meet capacity demands.
Identify and implement business process improvements affecting packaging procedures.
Insure safety and quality compliance among the packaging portfolio.
Provide training to other CPChem Supply Chain personnel as needed in the packaging area.
Provide back up to another Transportation Specialist as needed.
Must have a minimum of 10 years logistics experience
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an operational role withing a packaging or warehouse location
Must have experience with plastic resin products
Working knowledge of SAP
Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook
Ability to interact with internal upper management as well as senior executives of our providers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to develop and foster customer and supplier relationships
Strong data analytics and organizational skills
Must have ability to work well in a team environment
This position requires up to 40% travel
Knowledge of specialized equipment specifications
Discipline of Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or other technical field
