Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Food Service Technician. This position supervises inmates by teaching inmates proper cooking procedures, planning menus, preparing special diets as needed, ensuring that all dishes and kitchen are properly sanitized, performing first aid, and keeping a record of all knives and tools issued to inmates. Performs administrative duties by preparing daily production sheets, diet sheets, and daily count sheets, recording temperatures of refrigerated units and dish machine, requesting maintenance of kitchen equipment, and preparing work assignments. Receives and stores food supplies by following health standards and applying knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor.
Candidates must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes and a level of education equivalent to four years of high school. At least one year of experience is required. Candidates must be able to successfully complete a Food Protection Manager Certification as well as a CPR Certification. Certification training will be provided by the county.
