Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Membership & Wellness, the Marketing Coordinator is responsible for leading the center in all multimedia productions. Coordinator will be responsible for the brand and image of the YMCA and effect membership development, recruitment and retention, program promotions and image building in the community. This position is responsible for all marketing communications including Prozine, newsletters, all social media platforms, webpage, flyers, videos and additional marketing avenues both in the center and in the community.
Minimum 18 years of age is required. High School diploma, or its equivalent, is required (Associates Degree or higher in in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field, or its equivalent, is preferred) and/or minimum 2-4 years related work experience. InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress and Illustrator skills preferred. Communication skills both within a team environment and interaction with the public and media outlets necessary. Basic awareness of branding and the ability to become the Center expert for YMCA branding. Copy writing skills required. Comfortable with basic photography and videoing for promotional purposes. Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition experience is a plus. Must possess outstanding public relations skills, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous and professional manner with people and enjoy a high degree of public contact, both within the YMCA facility and the community. High level of written, oral and people-oriented communication skills and the ability to work independently and handle numerous projects concurrently is required. Ability to desktop publishing for marketing functions preferred.
Strong organizational and marketing skills necessary for both membership and program promotion desired. Experience and ability with maintaining website and utilizing other electronic media (e.g. social networking) to engage and inform members. Ability to manage diverse situations in a fast paced environment. A proven record of multi-tasking and cooperation with the ability to stay focused during detailed tasks. Ability to acquire and maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation and designated Member Service/Center training, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment (or time frame determined). A general knowledge of the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, its Mission, values and program is required. Ability to establish positive relationships with community organizations and corporations in promotion of membership, program and the YMCA mission. Administrative skills including ability to maintain and generate reports and statistical information.
