Role Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Engineering and Technology Strategy, this person will lead a U.S. based engineering team focused on the development of TV's under Best Buy Exclusive Brands. This person will work in a collaborative environment with the product management team in the technical specifications of future TV's and work with an internal cross functional team and external technology and manufacturing partners in the commercialization of TV's. This person will have proven team leadership experience and a broad technical background with a broad range of experience in TV Picture Quality, hardware and firmware, multi-media system architecture, RF, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Coach and mentor a U.S. based team of engineers focused in the development of TV's as part of a global cross functional team.
Partner with the product management team to develop engineering specifications for new TV's and/or video based products.
Hands-on involvement with the team in the development of TV systems (Design, validation, and factory support) in close partnership with a global cross functional team, offshore ODM partners, and key technology providers.
Partner with key technology providers and SoC vendors to develop technology roadmaps for TVs and video based products.
Research and stay current on TV technologies, including picture quality technologies and trends.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
12 or more years of experience in product development and system architecture of video based products.
5 or more years of experience designing and shipping high volume consumer products.
5 or more years of people management experience leading a team of engineers.
Experience/understanding of picture quality measurement equipment, TV panel systems and LCD back-light modules
Exposure to video processing algorithms and techniques including HDR technologies, local dimming and MEMC.
Experience with hardware/software architecture, SOC architecture, RTOS and Linux and RF technologies such as WiFi and Bluetooth.

Preferred Qualifications:
10 years hands-on experience in display video processing/picture quality engineering.
Experience working with offshore manufacturing partners and working in geographically distributed teams.
