SDB Inc. is a General Contractor with an onsite Millwork Division. Our Millwork Division provides custom solutions to our customers, where precision, quality, and aesthetics are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient production.
- Hands-on position with some office/computer work as needed (shop time 75% Office 25%)
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary supplies.
- Schedule and prioritize work orders to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that arise during the production process.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Ensure quality control at every stage of production, from materials selection to final assembly.
- Collaborate with Shop Manager to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings.
- Lead and manage a team of skilled cabinet makers, providing guidance, support, and training.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify design drawings.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to obtain necessary materials and equipment.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed to meet deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Troubleshoot issues, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to improve workflow.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in custom cabinetry, casework, or woodworking.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction or manufacturing setting
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and/or shop drawings.
- Excellent leadership and management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
