This is an entry-level position which has great potential to grow - depending on performance and fit with the firm and our current staff. Main duties involve assistance to case managers, paralegals and attorneys on cases and miscellaneous other tasks, some independent case management once trained, answering phones and receiving/distributing/scanning mail, faxes and other documents.
Solid experience in a PC environment with Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook and Excel, as well as Adobe Acrobat, QuickBooks and Time Matters (or similar customer database system) is required. Typing 75+ WPM and experience with HotDocs (or similar document assembly system) and QuickBooks is preferred. Must have excellent phone skills, be extremely attentive to details, and eager to learn. Experience in a fertility or family law firm, family law court, surrogacy or egg donation agency or IVF clinic is a plus but is not required. Because this is an international law firm, bilingual or multilingual candidates will have a huge advantage over other candidates (we are open to candidates fully fluent in written and spoken English as well as German, Italian, or French). Bilingual candidates may be additionally interviewed and tested by certified translators. Please provide resume with references and cover letter.
The perfect candidate is someone with some family law firm experience with at least a year or two of experience as a paralegal, but we are open to candidates who don't fit that profile exactly. Anyone hard working who is interested in this industry, is organized, has a drive to succeed and knows how to ask questions, and has excellent people skills (on the phone, in person and via email) could be trained in most of aspects of the job.
