SCAD seeks an experienced Editor with a passion for the arts and a comprehensive knowledge of publishing to own and oversee the production of a few innovative titles annually on subjects as varied as architecture to animation, fashion to fragrance, painting to photography, and more.
In this role, you will collaborate with the Executive Editor to ideate and develop new titles that further elevate SCAD’s reputation and work with internal stakeholders as well as external publishers to ensure aesthetic excellence, compelling content, a streamlined process, and successful outcomes. The ideal candidate has excellent verbal, written, and communication skills; is a strategic and creative thinker; has a passion for arts and culture; possesses strong organizational skills; and maintains current knowledge of publishing industry trends and the retail landscape. Additionally, you have a positive and proactive approach plus the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and thrive in a creative and fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of seven years of experience in publishing: book packager, museum, university, media company, or similar environment will be considered
- Keen understanding of 360-degree book creation process from concept to creation to distribution
