This leadership position will manage the daily operations of the quality assurance process for all applications within the organization. This role also works closely with the end users and product owners to develop, communicate and execute application upgrade and maintenance roadmaps. This role will be tightly coupled with peer business SMEs, information security, PMO, and application development, to design and execute on the application upgrade and maintenance roadmap. The Sr. Manager of Enterprise Quality is a forward-looking leader who can follow the TMMi process, develop organizational processes, implement change and product metrics driving the operations to be more efficient and effective throughout the organization. This role will drive the organization quality strategy and roadmaps along with providing best in class execution and support.
As a member of the IT leadership team, and interacting with key business SMEs, this role will drive success and stability of our business operations and partner relationships. A key success factor will be partnering with the PMO, Infrastructure and Support team successfully, negotiating and managing vendor contracts, and project implementation of high performing teams. This role will provide vision, management and leadership to teams that do not directly report to them but are critical to their success. Managing the resource allocations of the quality team and delivering metrics of TMMi, application maintenance and support along with managing efficiency goals will determine the success of the role.
Define and execute a comprehensive quality strategy by establishing, implementing, monitoring and enforcing quality engineering/assurance procedures, policies, and standards Interface closely with product development/engineering, PMO and operational groups in support of software releases and managing quality engineering/assurance tools Implement robust agile/kan ban practices and operational cadence to analyze and support service delivery and improve our overall service delivery quality across the Enterprise
Oversee all aspects of Quality Management, including the establishment of metrics and KPIs to measure and monitor performance and response to incidents and problems, change and release management, User Acceptance Testing, Deployment Support, Performance/Load Testing and Production Support of change implementation Demonstrates intimate knowledge of IT and strategic objectives and develops expertise in a variety of the areas – relationship management, agile quality delivery, solution identification and selection, etc.
Leads and directs the work of others often through influence, coaching and developmental feedback and take prompt corrective actions where neededIdentifies efficiency gaps and develops operational process recommendations for the leadership team and organization
Coordinate and drive execution of quality assurance testing including but not limited to, creating test plans, test scripts, tracking bugs, reporting defects, QA effectiveness, etc.
Oversee software releases (including deployment) and ensure adherence to documented procedures Ensure the appropriate test environments are in place, they are managed and controlled
Manage defect log and ensure issues are resolved, including validation of the fix Develop QA KPI/metrics, compare against industry standards and report KPI/metrics Manage key vendor relationships including contract negotiations, pricing and evaluation of current and potential partnerships
Accountable for a supported, stable and high-performing quality of all business and IT supporting applications. companywide. This includes, but is not limited to, all PMO portfolio project/changes, planning and management of maintenance and upgrades of all applications with minimal impact to the end users.
Adapt the maintenance and upgrade plans to account for the evaluation, adoption, and execution of emerging technologies supporting all platforms of application and technology delivery including cloud and on-premise infrastructure, SaaS and locally hosted applications
Develop and Manage the organizational software upgrade and maintenance roadmaps Develop a communication plan inclusive of all application management and the levels of quality throughout the organization and impact of the Quality work that is being done to move the business forward.
Build strong links between internal functional areas to create multidisciplinary teams that work together.
Ensure correct focus on critical customer issues to ensure timely resolution to minimize impact to business or members and drive improvements in quality processes to limit these disruptions to the business.
Undergraduate degree in business with a focus on information systems or related field.
An MS, MBA or related advanced degree is a plus.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance operations and process improvement positions with an emphasis on outsourced QA, User/Business driven testing, cloud and SaaS solutions, Operational Performance/Load testing
Minimum 5 years Senior Application management experience utilizing agile and/or kan ban best practices processes and tools
Proven Track record of:
Setting a quality strategy and executing successfully on that strategy
Delivering organization metrics related to enterprise quality of application development, partner integration, various levels of testing (System test, User Acceptance Test, Production Validation Testing, etc.)
Delivering a roadmap to continue increasing the maturity of organizational quality in the software solutions
Experience with Dev/Sec/Ops development strategies
Experience managing budgets and resources across multiple application
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Substantial experience leading, directing and controlling a complex technical environment with partner products integration.
Knowledge of business concepts, and an understanding of the links between major business processes, products, applications, systems, and networks.
Demonstrated skills QA tools, specifically Azure Dev Ops, Jira and Microsoft Office product suite.
Demonstrated administrative, financial, project management and vendor management skills.
Visible leadership skills and executive presence; can motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectives.
Able to attract, develop and retain talent and build high performing infrastructure and operations teams.
Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate QA standards and metrics to meet business requirements.
Ability to work in both waterfall and agile project processes.
