Job Summary:
Reports directly to the CT Supervisor. Assists the technologists and/or nurses in all patient activities, assures procedure rooms are prepared for patients, assists technologists/nurses in the exam room as required, assists the technologist/nurse in retrieving patient's clinical history and assists in associated paperwork, assures the correct patient is being imaged in accordance to hospital protocol of checking at least two patient identifiers prior to completing examination, retrieves prior films/images as required, assists patients in dressing for procedures, sends for and/or transports patients, as needed, ensures that all procedure rooms are stocked with supplies. Demonstrates appropriate computer skills. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Knowledgeable of Radiation Safety ALARA principles and practice.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the electronic medical record.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of departmental needs, such as stocking rooms and keeping stretchers available.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of patient equipment, such as monitors and stretchers.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of transporting patients to and from departments and/or patient rooms.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of hospital and departmental safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Diploma/GED required
Work Experience:
Previous hospital experience is desired.
Certification/Licensure:
CPR certified preferred, required after job acceptance. Nurse aide training is preferred but not required.
