Crop and Cattle Farm Hand

Duties and responsibilities
- All duties associated with planting and harvesting of crops
- Set up, operate and service farm machinery and equipment
- Maintain irrigation equipment
- Proper application of pesticides, herbicides or fertilizer to the fields as needed
- Understand the implications of the weather and make contingency plans
- Local hauling of grain with semi
- Assist in cattle feeding, processing, and doctoring
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Previous farm experience preferred
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to execute given tasks
- Timely and professional individual
- Ability to work without supervision
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and
- Ability to drive a semi and obtain a CDL
- Ability to work 2500 to 2600 hours per year which may include weekends and evenings as needed during the busy season
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. on a regular basis
