Patient Experience Educator - 1903014
At Stony Brook Medicine, a Patient Experience Educator supports the Patient Experience Division by planning, implementing and evaluating patient experience educational programs and interventions that support improving the patient experience based on evidence based practice. Demonstrates and fosters collaborative relationships across all disciplines/departments throughout the organization. Utilize a strong knowledge base of patient experience and excellent communication skills to achieve and sustain results through education and coaching.
The Duties of the Patient Experience Educator may include the following but are not limited to:
Support educational goals that are established within the Patient Experience Division
Design and implement educational programs that incorporate patient data/feedback, based on evidence based practice and support goals of patient centered care
Evaluates and enhances patient experience programs
Build curriculum designed from an understanding of adult learning needs
Provides coaching to variety of disciplines in clinical settings
Utilizes role playing and simulation to enhance learning
Demonstrates visibility, accessibility and effective communications that convey a strong sense of advocacy and support for patients, staff and leadership
Role models ICARE standards
BA/BS in Nursing, Psychology or Healthcare
At least three (3) years of experience in customer service or health care role in a health care setting
Experience coaching or educating staff in a healthcare setting
Superior analytic and communication skills
Expertise in spreadsheet and database software packages such as Microsoft Excel
Proven ability to support projects to successful completion with sustainability
Collaborative, approachable, team oriented and passionate about patient experience
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
Experience working in an Academic Medical Center
