The Recreation Intern will assist with the development and management of recreation programs and facilities. This role will report to the Director of Recreation. The internship will offer unique experiences to gain exposure to all facets of the District. The intern will gain knowledge in:
- Recreation programming
- Strategic planning
- Facilities management
- Park maintenance
- Fitness center and golf course operations
- Special events
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation Management or related field from a National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) accredited university or related field.
- Proficient in computer word-processing and spreadsheet software applications.
- Good problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.
Rate of Pay: $10.50 an hour
Schedule: 40 hours a week for 12 weeks from May to August, and may require some nights, weekends, and holidays.
