The Therapist position serves a vital role as an in-formal leader and mentor to early career clinicians. Bringing a deep understanding of systems theory to bear on the work, this position provides direct clinical services to families seeking help with a range of complex problems. The therapist is expected to work with the most challenging and complex families served by the center. The therapist provides individual, family, couples and group therapy grounded in systems and relational theory. The Clinician is expected to conduct intakes, develop and lead parenting workshops, and provide case management as needed. The position works within a multi-disciplinary clinical care team model and participates in meetings and case conferences.
The position is responsible for:
➢ Providing individual, family, couple, and group therapy
➢ Conducting clinical intakes and assessments
➢ Assessing and treatment planning for active case load
➢ Referring into other modalities within the clinic as needed
➢ Documenting all client care in our EMR system
➢ Providing clinical care that complies with all the legal and ethical standards set by the field and the state of California
➢ Leading Workshops and Trainings as appropriate
In collaboration with the:
➢ Clinical team provide clinical consultation to colleagues to contribute to the quality of care provided by the center.
➢ Leadership team contribute to the creation of workshop curriculum.
➢ The Leadership team, contribute to the Continuing Education program
➢ Other duties necessary to ensure customer satisfaction, clinical excellence, continuity of care and the success of MCYAF.
➢ Must possess a License in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, or Psychology.
➢ Must have five or more years of experience working with children, youth and their families Must have experience working with large family systems and subsystems
➢ Interest in mentorship of early career clinicians
➢ Commitment to community mental health service
➢ Experience as a supervisor or other organizational leadership position is preferred
➢ Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
➢ Experience working in a clinic setting, community mental health setting, or within multidisciplinary teams
➢ Available to work after school hours, such as afternoons, evenings and Saturdays
