The Head of Home Office Learning (HOL) is responsible for system-wide development and on-going management of Wealth Management’s Home Office Talent Management and Learning strategies, initiatives, policies and practices, and programs. In this role, the HOL must partner effectively with Wealth Management’s business unit, HR and diversity to ensure alignment with the changing competitive landscape and strategic direction, focusing on inspiring and developing the capability of our home office workforce, positioning the organization for growth.

In this position you will:
  • Partner with business leaders, Talent Acquisition, Diversity, and HR generalists to formulate a home office Talent and Organization Strategy, focused on the long-term organizational and talent capabilities needed to drive the business strategies of the organization.
  • Oversee the performance development and career management systems engaging in the continuous improvement and enhancement of these programs to drive a “learning and mobility culture”
  • Serve as partner in home office Talent Review process, including the alignment of key people strategies to business strategies, an assessment of the organization’s talent pipeline, and key commitments for future workforce development.
  • Establish and manage a Talent Mobility strategy to facilitate the movement of key talent across the organization both to benefit the individual’s career progression and to support the organization’s needs.
  • Ensure all new executives are on boarded quickly to minimize time to productivity.
  • Drive curriculum for Talent Management and Learning platform, including assessments in cooperation with internal and external providers/vendors to evaluate the effectiveness of program outcomes and to implement enhancements as needed.
  • Work with Marketing, HR Business Partners, Talent and others to promote Morgan Stanley’s brand as an organization that develops its workforce.
  • Ongoing familiarity with best practices, innovations and networks with key external learning leaders to stay on the cutting edge of the Learning and Development, Talent Management, Career Development and Performance Management disciplines.
  • Create relationships with all key executives and build trust and credibility within the organization.
  • 10 + years as a senior-level talent management and learning leader with experience working in global organizations, recognized for developing talent & contributing best practices in the talent space
  • 10 + years of proven successful experience demonstrating positive results in executive level strategic planning, program development or organizational development is required.
  • Knowledge of instructional design, curriculum and content development, multimodal methods of training delivery, learning platforms, evaluation, succession planning and performance support combined with a strong entrepreneurial spirit, innovator and creative thinker.
  • Experience in leading within a matrixed environment
  • Ability to get key HR objectives accomplished though others – both direct report leaders as well as through leaders outside direct reporting relationship
  • Experience designing and implementing innovative talent management and learning programs
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, project management, communication, problem solving and consultation skills required.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with a sense of urgency and a desire to achieve top line results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across geography and culture
  • Ability to measure and articulate key talent outcomes that impact the business
  • Demonstrated ability to flex style and solutions to the needs of the individual, organization, or environment
  • Leadership experience in consensus building, developing teams, visionary thinking and organizational alignment and lean process improvement is required.
  • Demonstrated technological savvy to leverage the educational programs with the benefits of technology.
  • Strong leadership presence with exceptional presentation and relationship-building skills
  • A Master's Degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Behavioral Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field is required
