Experience and Education
DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA accredited shcool, completion of a two year postdoctoral training program or two years practical experience in clinical lab animal medicine, and licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
Assists in providing medical and surgical care for research animals.
Coordinates health assessments of incoming non-commercial research animals.
Assits in Institutional Animal Care and Research Advisory Committee protocol reviews.
Represents the Animal Resources Center Director concerning animal health issues in the event of his/her absence.
Communicates with research staff and faculty regarding animal health and welfare.
Assists with quarantine and health maintenance of animal colonies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
