As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a time commitment, since it produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. And during the monthly close, your responsibilities will also cover various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and playing an active role in compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives
  • Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
  • Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Partake in annual closing processes
  • Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases
  • ERP system experience
  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
  • Detailed and have the ability work independently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations
  • Abila MIP experience
  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
