Child & Family Studies (CFS) is one of seven departments and schools within the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences (CBCS) at the University of South Florida (USF). Organized into three research divisions and three academic programs that work synergistically, CFS currently has approximately 275 faculty and staff members. During FY18, CFS managed a portfolio of federal and non-federal contracts and grants totaling $45.2 million. Our research divisions include the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC), Child and Family Behavioral Health (CFBH), and the Rightpath Research and Innovation Center. CFS's three academic programs are Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (CABH), and Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (RMHC). A new master's program in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) will begin in the fall of 2020. Six graduate certificates and one undergraduate certificate are also offered.

The primary responsibilities of the Social and Behavioral Researcher are to assist the Research Assistant Professor as well as other researchers in Child and Family Behavioral Health with conducting research and evaluation projects. Activities to be conducted include literature reviews; instrument development; assisting staff in creation of research proposals, reports, and manuscripts; creating conference proposals and facilitating conference presentations or workshops; assisting with submission and oversight of IRB protocols; coordination of research activities; assisting with subject recruitment; facilitating focus groups and interviews; administering assessments to families; assisting with training of data collectors; observing meetings; maintenance of research records; data coding; data entry; quantitative and qualitative data analysis; and assisting PIs with other research-related tasks. The position may require travel for research purposes.
Supports research/evaluation activities through quantitative/qualitative data collection, entry, coding, and analysis. Maintains records for research activities as well as meeting notes for project-related meetings.
Supports research/evaluation dissemination activities by assisting in the development of project reports, research manuscripts, and conference presentations, including creating tables and figures, assembling references, writing narrative, creating and assembling supporting materials, and proofreading.
Supports research implementation activities of assigned contracts and grants such as assisting with IRB documentation and subject recruitment; facilitating interviews and focus groups; mailing and distributing surveys.
Supports research development activities including developing survey instruments and conducting literature reviews.
Supports extramural research activities such as assisting in the creation of research proposals to federal/state agencies and foundations including assembling references, preparing investigator biographical sketches, and developing appendices and other supporting materials.
Other assigned duties.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master's degree in one of the same fields. Four years of progressively responsible work experience in a field directly related to the research may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
