HealthTrio is looking for a Software Engineer II – Team Lead to join their growing team in Tucson, AZ. This position provides leadership to a team of engineers in support of the Connect product in addition to hands-on development work. Activities include full development, from analysis to implementation, in a suite of full-featured web applications. Leadership responsibilities include assisting with hiring and training new staff members and coordination of an internship program.

The Software Engineer II is responsible for hands-on development work guiding our ElasticSearch architecture across multiple departments (Engineering, IT, DB). Activities include full development, from analysis to implementation, in a suite of full-featured web applications.

Analyze, design, code, debug, test and support a suite of full-featured web applications.
Teach, learn and use best coding practices.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Implement coding in Java, explore and build your skills in the full stack.
Investigate problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions. Guide complex problems from identification to resolution across different departments, employees and/or systems.
Provides technical expertise in researching, identifying, evaluating, recommending and/or developing systems, controls, methods, techniques and models.
Contributes to the organization, processes, teams and product in a significant manner.
Adheres to organizational processes and procedures.
Works independently, and as a team member.
Exhibits initiative and drive to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Demonstrated knowledge of developing using Java.
Proficient in JavaScript/CSS/HTML.
Demonstrated proficiency in ElasticSearch.
Experience with Cassandra, Kubernetes, Docker.
Expertise with T-SQL or other relational database.
Experience developing web-based SAAS solutions preferred.
Experience with third party integrations (web services and SSOs) preferred.
Exposure to open-source technologies: Spring, Spring MVC.
Experience in machine learning, NOSql solutions, mobile web apps/HealthKit/Google Fit a plus.
Knowledge of the healthcare domain preferred.
Able to think independently to resolve complex system issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on projects and assignments of complex scope; exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, receives general instruction on new assignments and objectives.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development.
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Occasional off-hour/evening/weekend and/or overtime hours will be required.
The essential functions of this position are performed in a climate-controlled office environment. Some office areas will contain a significant amount of computer and peripheral equipment (e.g., printers) producing the associated electronic equipment noise.
