The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) area of the Annuities business is currently recruiting for an Financial Analyst. The individual’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to; production and analysis of data for the monthly financial close cycle, supporting the FP&A team in elements of the forecast process , and ad-hoc projects and process improvements. This position will be dynamic, providing growth and opportunity for a progressively larger role on the team, geared toward an entry level employee seeking the opportunity to dive right into a career in Financial Planning & Analysis.
Contributes to monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes. Conducts or assists in the research and documentation of financial analysis, ad hoc requests and special projects. Prepares, reviews and verifies the accuracy of financial statements and data, Recommends and implements accounting methods and procedures.
Contributes to financial close cycles, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital. Assists in preparing balance sheet, income statement, and/or other annual and quarterly reports.
Researches and assists in the preparation of financial reports on both GAAP and Statutory basis of accounting.
Assists other analysts, consultants and managers.
Shares technical expertise with others. Recommends process improvements.
Assists in audit processes in conjunction with internal and external auditors.
Assists in establishing, modifying, documenting, and implementation of accounting methods and control procedures.
Delivers succinct and clear summarizations of analysis tailored to the needs of different customers.
Able to manage multiple, often competing priorities.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience:
BA degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
1 – 3 years accounting and/or finance experience
Good understanding of accounting principles
PC skills (Microsoft Office)
Able to work both independently and in a team environment
Solid communication skills
