PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Summary: Assists in coordinating and maintaining production line schedules by aligning demand with available capacity. Helps to achieve customer on-time delivery based on component delivery coordination. Other responsibilities include expediting and prioritizing work orders, updating respective planner inventory and planning parameters, and coordinating open orders.

Works and communicates closely with Director, Operations Planning, Production Managers and Leads, Sales Team, Purchasing and Inventory Control.

Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and maintain multiple production schedules.
Participate in weekly production meetings.
Monitor and coordinate schedules based on key component planned deliveries and work with Purchasing to improve integrity of supplier delivery dates.
Achieve inventory reduction targets through effective planning and re-purposing of slow moving materials.
Understand available capacity limitations and coordinate/communicate situations where demonstrated capacity might become compromised.
Work with CI Team to effectively implement process improvements that drive efficiencies through better planning and scheduling.
Work with Production Team to achieve KPI’s of On-Time-Delivery (OTD).
Communicate with Sales Team regarding planned schedule dates and any changes relating to Customer orders in a prompt and professional manner.

Additional Skills or Knowledge Required:
Associates degree or working towards in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field and/or equivalent experience.
Experience in production planning, scheduling or relevant experience preferred.
Experience with ERP planning systems preferred.
Experience participating in continuous improvement events preferred.
Knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand and replenishment processes in a manufacturing environment, preferably custom job shop.
Knowledge/understanding of manufacturing systems as they relate to manufacturing planning processes (MRP and Pull Systems).
Excellent problem solving and analytic skills-ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to work well with others.
