Multifamily Leasing Manager
Owner, Manager and Developer, with expertise in managing affordable housing in the New York metropolitan area. We currently manage over 5,000 affordable apartments in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Westchester.
We are seeking a Leasing Manager to join our diverse and growing team of property management professionals. The Leasing Manager will be overseeing the leasing and voucher process for 814 units located in multiple properties in Brooklyn. You will be on-site in our corporate office in Manhattan, however, there will be times you will need to visit the onsite offices.
The position requires a deep understanding of rent stabilization, subsidy voucher programs and Yardi experience. At least 3-5 years of experience and knowledge in rent stabilization.
· Draft and Prepare rent stabilized Vacancy and Lease Renewal Packages and all appropriate riders.
· Communicate with residents regarding their leases, rents and subsidy vouchers if applicable.
· Data entry in our internal software Yardi. Updating rents and lease terms.
· Uploading executed leases into NYCHA, HPD and other subsidy systems and or portals.
· Monitoring portals daily for approvals and status. Oversee tenant rent changes, including those changes that affect rent subsidies.
· Knowledge of HPD Section 8, NYCHA Section 8, FHEPS, HRA and HCR Section 8.
· Updating Yardi software when there is a rent change in tenant or subsidy portion.
· Annual Apartment HCR Registrations.
· Administer, complete and track initial lease, subsidies and lease renewals.
· Enforce tenant lease compliance regarding rent payment, other lease terms, riders and “House Rules.”
· Review legal and subsidy bills for accuracy monthly.
- Maintain and prepare all tenant files for review, audit and inspection by project program supervisory auditors and inspectors.
· Liaison with attorney regarding tenant litigation for non-renewal and provide documentation as required
· Follow up with payments due from HPD, NYCHA, HRA
· Prepare reporting for city and State agencies
Qualifications
· At least a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five (5) years of direct professional experience with rent stabilized leasing.
· Demonstrated leadership ability and willingness to lend expertise to other compliance team members.
· Proficiency in Excel and experience with Yardi and/or other property management software.
· Strong organizational skills and pride in attending to details.
· Initiative and excellent time management skills in handling multiple projects to meet deadlines.
· Able to maintain a professional demeanor when engaging with residents, staff, and others.
· Experience working and communicating professionally with regulators to resolve compliance issues.
· Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
