The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals who desire a rewarding career making a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment.
The Protective Services Investigator will be responsible to conduct civil investigations referred by the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) per M.G.L. 19c and to provide protective services to individuals with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 59 who have sustained serious physical and/or serious physical emotional injuries as a result of verbal, physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse by a caregiver. On a rotating basis, employee responds to emergency calls and provides protective services on the 24-hour DPPC Hotline.
Candidate must conduct in-depth protective service assessments for individuals who have been found to be abused and/or neglected. As part of the protective services delivery, candidate must prepare service/safety plans in cooperate with the abused and/or neglected individual and/or any other party, which identifies the nature and duration of services. Candidate must work collaboratively with outside state and private agencies, including law enforcement entities and all MRC program staff, throughout the investigative process and/or open case.
Candidate must provide own transportation, possess a valid driver’s license and must be able to travel throughout the Commonwealth.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the-required experience.*
II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*
III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*
- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
