Our extensive continuum of care includes an Urgent Psychiatric and Addiction Assessment Center (IPAC), adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatry services, adult inpatient substance use treatment and detoxification services, adult, child and adolescent partial hospitalization programs (PHP), adult, child and adolescent intensive outpatient programs (IOP), as well as outpatient psychiatric appointments and outpatient counseling services.
Our Inova Behavior Health Services in Merrifield is seeking a Full-Time Day shift Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator. Some of the duties include:
Maintains operations of admissions to behavioral health and substance abuse services by organizing referrals, providing outreach, and coordinating admissions to different levels of care via telephone.
Provides telephone support to patients, families and community members who call the behavioral health call center.
Conducts initial screenings and assessments to assess patient needs.
Coordinates admission appointments.
Assists with training new staff on call center operations and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
Schedule will be based on department needs working Monday to Friday and rotating weekends
Two (2) years' experience with patient assessment and intake, appointment scheduling, telephone support and referral which can include a practicum/internship in behavioral health or substance abuse. Four (4) years' experience in addiction treatment or delivery of behavioral health services, preferred
High School Diploma, required.
Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field (e.g.social work, psychology, counseling), preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
- Excellent phone etiquette and skills.
- Demonstrated de-escalation skills when dealing with patients.
- Ability to work non-traditional work hours (e.g.evening/night/weekends)
- EMR Systems and Business Phone Operations, preferred
