Boecore is currently interviewing candidates for our Technical Apprentice Program in the Cybersecurity field supporting major government programs in Colorado Springs, CO.
Candidate will be an apprentice working under the daily guidance of a senior Cyber Security professional on the program who will act as their mentor. Apprentices will be mentored in daily duties and supporting processes and tools and will gain hands-on experience in Cyber Security activities. They will also be provided On the Job Training (OJT) to cover general IT and Cyber Security activities and processes and program specifics in support of daily operations including network monitoring, outage & recovery operations, vulnerability studies, availability & resiliency approaches, threat identification, protection measures, security system reviews and information assurance. Candidate will gain exposure to many facets of Cyber Security in support major Enterprise network along with the missions and customers it supports.
Duties may include, but may not be limited to:
Providing technical support to the Enterprise Cyber Security operations and performing activities to meet current and future system requirements.
Providing support to the following Cyber Security activities:
Performing network intrusion detection and incident response.
Performing risk analysis, threat assessments, vulnerability studies and mitigation actions.
Documenting and updating system artifacts to include network security architecture, design, and other configuration items.
Analyzing device security event logs.
Candidates are required to have basic cyber security skills acquired through course work, job experience and/or self-taught.
Basic background in networking to include local and wide area networking (LAN/WAN) fundamentals, firewalls, IPS services, boundary protection devices, network security, web serving technologies and protocols in TCP-IP based communication systems.
Candidates are required to have basic MS Office tool experience; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Excellent technical writing skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of personnel, peers, supervisors, and customers.
Strong work ethic, demonstrated problem solving ability, willingness to learn new skills and a pro-active approach that demonstrates initiative.
Strong commitment to a team environment and ability to work effectively on a team.
Ability to adapt quickly to new situations evolving in a very fast-paced environment.
Candidates must have, or be able to obtain within 60 days, a Security+ Certification.
Must have an active DoD security clearance.
Other IT, Networking and IA/Cyber Security certificates such as; DoD 8570 IAT 2.
Experience with ArcSight for correlating security events across the network.
MS Visio experience for network diagramming.
