Reports To: Application Development Manager

Summary:
Primary duties for a Senior Systems Analyst include administering and maintaining applications, analyzing system requirements and addressing problems reported by the business community. In addition, the individual must perform upgrades, coordinate testing, conduct training, develop reports and provide enhancements by using workflows or other methods while keeping security in mind at all times. A general knowledge and understanding of business functions such as Finance, Accounting, HR, Payroll, Procurement and AP is a must.

Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested)

Reviews and examines current systems.
Interacts directly with business owners and identifies system requirements.
Reviews current processes and provides solutions to automate and unify processes across business functions and systems.
Develops and modifies process maps, workflows, and custom reports.
Provides training to the end-user on business application and reports.
Keeps application up-to-date by applying the latest patches and upgrades.
Writes SQL scripts to research data and test vendor fixes.
Troubleshoots technical issues and identifies modifications needed in existing application.
Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported and resolved in a timely manner.
Possibly develops and documents interfaces with other applications.
Writes technical documentation for the application including operations, user guide, etc.
Works with other IT members such as the Infrastructure, Web and DBA teams during installation and application connectivity.
Suggests areas of improvements in internal processes along with possible solutions.
Provides technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT solutions to meet the business requirements.

Education and Experience: (or equivalent)

Must have a college degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 6 years of IT experience is required.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience working with RDMS databases like Oracle or SQL Server.
Strong SQL skills for troubleshooting problems, reports, or viewing data.
Writes reports using Cognos or other reporting tools.
Experience working with document management systems such as OpenText Content Suite and Process Suite.
Experience developing business processes and workflows.
Solid understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design.
Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
Understands how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.
