We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Corporate Risk Analyst for our Risk Management & Insurance Department at our corporate headquarters located in The Woodlands, Texas.
In this role as Corporate Risk Analyst, you will report directly to the Global Director, Corporate Risk Management. This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of an international corporate risk management department. This position supports the company’s property, casualty, and executive risk management programs as well as Huntsman’s enterprise risk management efforts.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Generate, compile, and analyze exposure and loss data for insurance underwriting submissions and loss control purposes. Includes working internally with various departments and subsidiaries/divisions (including insurance champions and corporate accounting) and externally with brokers and insurer(s) to collect and analyze this information
Perform certain accounting related matters related to risk management including insurance reserve accounting and monthly reconciliation of the accrual account, insurance related tax reporting and preparing insurance cost allocations - including performing total cost of risk and loss ratio calculations / analysis
Serve as primary liaison with Treasury / Cash Management in tracking and forecasting insurance related payments / deposits, including premium finance agreements
Assist other members of the corporate risk management department with lawsuit and incident report reviews, claims reporting and responses to internal and external inquiries. Includes working with Legal, HR, EHS and other internal stakeholders in the coordination and execution of key claim processes
Coordinate scheduling of internal quarterly claims reviews and preparation of the quarterly claims books
Manage corporate surety bond program
Maintain current schedule of insurance related collateral (e.g., Letters of Credit) and work with Risk Management team members and broker(s) to provide recommendations at renewals for options to reduce amounts / costs. Coordinate with Treasury, as needed, to adjust amounts (or replace) and to analyze costs
Support businesses and functions, as needed, with various financial assurance requirements / reports
Manage key department SOX controls (e.g., legal, EHS and audit report reviews, claim reviews and periodic control assessments)
Obtain risk reports and claims data from broker and insurer systems and prepare summary reporting as directed
Track progress on risk improvement projects – including monthly CAPEX spending and quarterly / annual CAPEX forecasts
Support and attend, as requested, quarterly account coordination meetings with property insurer, including certain site visits
Coordinate the issuance and tracking of incoming and outgoing certificates of insurance; monitor counterparty compliance (particularly U.S. contractors), vendor performance, and support plant security in maintaining current data and protocols. Also, prepare self-insurance letters as directed
Perform certain other administrative tasks such as posting content / updates to company intranet, external auditor interface, maintaining electronic files (including downloading all policies and endorsements from broker system), keeping the annual electronic Record of Insurance current, serving as department record retention coordinator, arranging teleconference / web conference / video conference meetings, and preparing various presentations
Provide overall assistance on special projects
Education / Experience Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Business or Accounting/Finance. Risk Management degree preferred
3 years’ experience in Risk Management, commercial insurance, and/or combination of industry and education (to include internships) required
ARM, CRM or CPCU designations (or progress towards these designations) a plus
Specific Skills and Knowledge:
Proficient in Microsoft Office; high level skills with Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in a multinational corporate environment
