We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a full-time Development, Public Relations, and Outreach Contractor. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic new business development, fundraising, and income-generating opportunities. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic public relations and outreach initiatives to enhance our organization's visibility and reputation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and public relations, excellent communication skills, a passion for building relationships, and the ability to drive growth.
This is a remote position that will report to the Executive Director and requires travel to locations in the US and Caribbean. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute comprehensive development strategies that increase funding from diverse sources.
· Develop and execute comprehensive public relations and outreach strategies to promote our organization's mission, values, and initiatives.
Development Work Details:
· Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential donors, sponsors, and funding opportunities.
· Develop and implement fundraising campaigns and initiatives to support organizational growth and sustainability.
· Track and report on the effectiveness of PR, outreach, and development efforts, by maintaining accurate and up-to-date donor records in a donor management system and providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
· Prepare, revise, and submit written requests for funding to corporate sponsors, foundations, grantors or donors or participate in meetings and events to cultivate the same.
· Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other potential funding sources. This includes conducting prospect research, making donor solicitations, and stewarding existing donors to ensure ongoing support.
Press and Media:
· Create and distribute press releases, media kits, and other relevant materials to targeted media outlets.
· Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and other key stakeholders to secure media coverage and increase brand awareness.
· Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities for proactive media outreach and thought leadership.
Social Media and Content Creation:
· Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling content for press releases, articles, blog posts, newsletters, donor and funder communications, and social media platforms.
· Support the Executive Director and other team members to actively participate in PR, outreach, and development.
· Plan and coordinate events, press conferences, and media interviews to maximize engagement.
· Plan and coordinate bi-monthly EPIC emailed newsletters, end of calendar year and end of fiscal year fundraisers, the Annual Impact Report and other projects and events to cultivate, communicate, and activate donors and supporters.
Outreach
· Represent and promote EPIC through speaking, writing, tabling and presentations to identify prospects and promote visibility and credibility.
Core requirements include:
· Thorough commitment to the EPIC mission.
· A minimum of five years’ experience in business development fundraising, development, public relations, communications, or equivalent experience. A track record of effectively scaling performance- and outcomes-based programs; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken programs fiscally to the next stage of growth.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
● Strong grant writing, proposal writing, and application skills and demonstrated success in securing funding for projects.
● Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people and engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
● Self-starter, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently.
Desired requirements:
● A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
● Knowledge of Caribbean conservation issues and familiarity with diverse Caribbean cultures.
● Love of the environment, nature, the ocean, and the outdoors.
● Preferred experience in graphic design and overseeing the creation of public relations and marketing materials of all kinds.
● Multi-lingual.
