Working as a senior technical leader and working “Lead” member of a project team, the Field Supervisor is primarily responsible for achieving over-all job site productivity and ensuring high-quality work. This position combines a senior professional-level trade skill set with basic project management methods to complete any task related to the installation and maintenance of a Structured Cabling System. A Field Supervisor safely and productively leads multiple onsite team members on projects of various sizes and levels of complexity to complete project milestones.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate project requirements and validate SOW (Scope of Work) and project plan by implementing strategies to achieve optimal team performance and ensure all work is performed in accordance with the SOW Scope of Work and industry standards.
Work with the Project Manager in the execution of work and maintain a 2-4 week look ahead schedule on the project.
Perform all technical infrastructure-related tasks of varying complexity, interpret all drawings, plans, and specifications.
Subject Matter Expert in such technical areas such as terminations, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
Properly set up and utilize a variety of installation equipment.
Lead project team efforts.
Mentors all levels of technicians to develop their abilities to perform their tasks and responsibilities.
Provide coaching, development and guidance to direct reports and/or team members, encouraging and guiding them to remain current with emerging technologies.
Provides performance input as requested to related to the achievements, milestones, and areas of improvement for Installer, Technician, and Lead Technician team members.
Maintain “A-level” ratings from client review.
Leads by example in exemplifying safety and professionalism on the job site.
Proactively oversee and lead job site organization and basic housekeeping maintenance.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
BICSI Certified Technician.
OSHA 30 Certified.
Fiber Optic Association CPCT preferred. Must be earned once hired.
Fiber Optic Association CFOT preferred. Must be earned once hired.
In-house Certified Training Required (company provided): OSHA 30, Manufacturer Fire Stop training, Hilti Powder Actuated Tools, E2 Scissor Lift Safety, E2 Fall Protection, E2 Confined Space Entry, First-Aid/CPR recommended.
Minimum 3 – 6 year’s work experience in Structured Cabling or related industry/construction experience.
Experience in large data center infrastructure industry including technology, quality and safety standards.
Minimum 3 years’ supervision and/or training experience, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Knowledge of general building codes and BICSI Standards.
Read, write, and understand English.
Able to distinguish color codes.

Obtain company approved (manufacturer) certifications.
Obtain PMI CAPM Certified Associate of Project Management designation.
Fiber Optic Association CPCT.
Maintain a satisfactory compliance with customer security requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Ability to understand and effectively explain every aspect of the structured cabling system including pathways, spaces, horizontal cabling, backbone copper, backbone fiber optic, cross- and inter-connections, and testing. This includes understanding applicable codes, standards, and industry-best practices and the ability to differentiate between them and make recommendations.
Knowledge of the PMBOK Guides and Standards
Knowledge of business practices and processes including basic accounting.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedure.
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.
Effective performance management skills.
Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.)
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.

Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position.
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
Demonstrated team work and versatility in integrating into multiple work environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
