Kymeta is looking for a DEBUG Test Engineer who assists Kymeta engineering and operations in the development, debug, and test of Kymeta’s unique flat panel satellite terminal and associated subassemblies. The successful candidate is a self-motivated team player with a proven track record in troubleshooting and repair of component level failures in electronic assemblies.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble production units by properly and carefully attaching circuit boards and routing cables.
- Test production units to ensure they meet ATP requirements.
- Troubleshoot system failures to the component level.
- Document troubleshooting steps and findings clearly and thoroughly.
- Gather test equipment and develop functional tests to be used for DEBUG activities.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary rapid problem-solving activities and propose solutions to prototype and production manufacturing challenges.
- Provide a strong sense of ownership to all assigned areas of responsibility.
- Participate in continuous improvement quality processes (lean manufacturing, ISO, etc.)
- Analyze and incorporate diagrams and schematics to aid in troubleshooting efforts.
- Effectively communicate failures and provide necessary steps to help resolve issues.
- Maintain a well-organized and safe work area.
- Write and develop visual aid documentation to be used by individuals with varying skill levels.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic debug/troubleshooting.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Ability to communicate information using standard Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Office, Power Point, Project and Visio.
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on new technologies and engineering challenges.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to use company-wide tools and systems to execute the key duties and responsibilities of the job.
- Expert in use of troubleshooting equipment (voltmeter, oscilloscope, signal and function generators) and PCBA rework equipment is required.
- Expert PCBA and cable rework equipment is required.
- Expert in reading/interpreting electronics schematics and diagnosing PCBA level problems is required.
- Ability to repair/replace components on PCBAs in a prototype environment is required.
- Ability to repair/replace components on PCBAs and wires/pins/connectors on cables for production rework is required.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or related field or equivalent experience
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $70,000 - $110,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below.
